Tungsten Disulfide is an excellent new solid lubricant material with a wide range of. It is not only suitable for general lubrication conditions but can also use for in harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, high vacuum, high load radiation, and corrosive media. Tungsten Disulfide clusters, due to the magnetic properties caused by their internal arrangement, can better adhere to metal surfaces during the lubrication and form a nanoscale protective lubricating film on the metal surface.

It can mix with oils and fats to form  oil,  grease,  it wax and other solid lubricant blocks and films. Additionally, in the field of composite materials, it can use for as a modifier. The main application areas of nanoified tungsten disulfide are as follows:

1. Tungsten disulfide (WS2) is primarily use for a petroleum catalyst: It use for as a hydrodesulfurization catalyst and use for in processes such as polymerization, reforming, hydration, dehydration, and hydroxylation Due to its good cracking performance, stable and reliable catalytic activity, and long service life, it is high welcome in oil refineries.

2. In preparation technology of inorganic functional materials, nanoscale WS2 is a new type of highly efficient catalyst. Due to its ability to form layer structures of new, nanoscale WS2 can make into single-molecule-layer two-dimensional materials and can re-stacke into new material particles with a very large internal in a “floor-room structure,” with interlayer substances add during the re-stacking process to make it a catalyst or sensitive display and superconducting material.

3. Nanoscale tungsten disulfide is a very important additive in the manufacture of high lubricating oils.
