Polyvinyl Alcohol
ОПИСАНИЕ ПРОДУКТА
Описание
Polyvinyl Alcohol the full name of which is polyvinyl alcohol, is a water-soluble polymer with properties between plastic and rubber. PVA usually exists in the form of white flakes, flocs or powder solids and is odorless. It is a widely use material with good solubility and plasticity. And can be formed by processes such as heating and pressing. The molecular structure of PVA contains a large number of hydroxyl groups (-OH). Which makes it highly active and capable of undergoing a variety of chemical reactions.
Physical and chemical properties
Physical properties:
Solubility: Polyvinyl Alcohol powder can be dissolve in water, PVA resin with an alcoholysis degree of less than 95% can be dissolve in water at room temperature. And PVA resin with an alcoholysis degree of more than 99.5% can only be dissolved in hot water above 95 degrees Celsius.
Chemical resistance: PVA is almost unaffect by weak acids, weak bases or organic solvents, and has high oil resistance.
Storage stability: PVA is a low-viscosity polymer, and its aqueous solution is very stable at room temperature, and the aqueous solution will not deteriorate during storage.
Film-forming property: PVA is easy to form a film. The film form is colorless and transparent, has good mechanical strength.A smooth and non-sticky surface, good solubility, good light transmittance, high moisture permeability, no charge, no dust absorption, and good printing properties.
Chemical properties: PVA can be regard as a linear polymer with secondary hydroxyl groups. The hydroxyl groups in the molecule are highly active and can undergo typical chemical reactions of low alcohols, such as esterification, etherification, acetalization, etc., and can also react with many inorganic or organic compounds.
Uses: PVA has a wide range of applications in many fields due to its unique physical and chemical properties:
Textile industry: Polyvinyl Alcohol fibers have good strength and durability and are widely use in textile manufacturing. Such as clothing, ropes, fabrics, etc.
Packaging materials: PVA films can be use in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and other fields to protect the safety and quality of products.
Building materials: PVA can be use as an additive for building materials to improve the performance of concrete. Increase the bonding strength and durability of concrete, and improve the crack resistance and durability of concrete.
Cosmetics: PVA can be use as a base material for cosmetics, such as facial masks, lotions, etc. It has good moisturizing and permeability, can moisturize the skin and improve skin quality.
Medical field: Polyvinyl Alcohol is also widely use in the medical field. It can be prepare into biodegradable scaffold materials for use in tissue engineering and drug sustaine release.
In summary, PVA, as a multifunctional polymer material, plays an important role in many industries with its excellent physical and chemical properties. Meeting people’s diverse requirements for material properties and usage needs.
