Description
Sodium Hexametaphosphate, also known as Graham’s salt, is an inorganic substance. It’s a white crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, and insoluble in organic solvents. In 1832, Graham found the Sodium Hexametaphosphate. He heated the salt obtained by heating and dehydrating sodium dihydrogen phosphate at its melting point (625°C) and cooled the melt rapidly to obtain hygroscopic Graham’s salt. Sodium Metaphosphate has a wide range of uses and excellent performance, so it is widely active in various fields.
(1) Detergent, Cleaning Agent
Sodium Polyphosphate is a commonly used detergent ingredient. It can be suitable as one of the main ingredients of washing powder, dish soap, dishwashing liquid, etc. Na6P6O18 also has good decontamination properties and can effectively remove stains on surfaces such as clothing and tableware.
(2) Water Treatment
Sodium Metaphosphate can serve as a water treatment agent to prevent scale formation and eliminate scale that has already formed. It can combine with calcium, magnesium, and other ions in the water to form soluble complexes, thereby reducing the formation of scale.
(3) Agriculture:
Besides, SHMP can serve as a fertilizer additive to improve soil fertility and crop yields.
(4) Industry:
Sodium Hexametaphosphate can be suitable as a lubricant, catalyst, refractory material, etc.
In addition to the above applications, SHMP also has the function of anti-corrosion and anti-scaling. Welcome to click Toplus for further information.
