Sodium chloride(Nacl) has a wide range of uses in industry, mainly including the following aspects:

1. Manufacturing chemical products: Sodium chloride is an important raw material for manufacturing chemicals such as chlorine, hydrogen, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, etc. For example, hydrogen and chlorine can be produce for electrolyzing sodium chloride aqueous solution. Calcium chloride is use for a flux to reduce the melting point of sodium chloride to below 700°C.
3. Food industry: Sodium chloride is use for a condiment and preservative in the food industry. The main component of table salt is sodium chloride. Which can remove some odors from food and increase its deliciousness.
4. Pharmaceutical industry: Sodium chloride is use for the pharmaceutical industry to manufacture drugs and disinfectants. For example, saline (0.9% sodium chloride solution) is the main body fluid substitute. Widely use for treat and prevent dehydration, and also used for intravenous injection therapy and prevention of hemolytic shock.

For example, it is use for a raw material for the manufacture of caustic soda, chlorate, hypochlorite, bleaching powder, and a refrigerant for refrigeration systems in inorganic and organic industries; it is use for a heat treatment agent in the steel industry; it can be use for a heating medium in a high-temperature heat source in a salt bath with potassium chloride, barium chloride, etc. to maintain the temperature between 820 and 960°C.
