Description
Sodium Hexametaphosphate, also known as “Sodium Polyphosphate”, or “Sodium Metaphosphate”. SHMP is a white crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents, and has strong hygroscopicity.
SHMP is a very common chemical raw material, and it is also a surfactant for ceramic water reducers. At present, the water-reducing agents commonly used in ceramic production mainly include inorganic and composite ceramic water-reducing agents. Water reducers are generally active in mud making, pulp refining, glaze making, and other technological processes. SHMP can make the mud maintain good fluidity, stability, and operability under the condition of low water content.
SHMP has a good ability to complex metal ions. So it can form soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium, and other metal ions, and the effect achieved in ceramic water reducers is better than other inorganic water reducers.
SHMP can be used as an additive to control the rheology of glazes. Adding SHMP to the glaze can increase the fine viscosity and viscosity of the glaze, making the glaze flow properties more stable.
At the same time, SHMP can also improve the adhesion and hardness of the glaze, making the glaze surface brighter and more uniform, and improving the wear resistance of the glaze surface.
In addition, Sodium Hexametaphosphate can also serve as a plasticity additive for porcelain clay. Adding Sodium Hexametaphosphate to the porcelain clay formula can improve the plasticity and plasticity of porcelain clay.
