Description
Neodymium Oxide, chemical formula Nd2O3, is a metal oxide. This product has high purity, small particle size, uniform distribution, large specific surface area, high surface activity, and low density. Meanwhile, it is easily affected by moisture, insoluble in water, and soluble in acid.
Neodymium Oxide is an extremely versatile rare earth oxide. So its main application areas include:
1. Glass and Ceramic Colorants.
Neodymium Oxide powder serves as a colorant in the manufacture of glass and ceramics, giving the material a bluish hue.
2. Manufacturing of Permanent Magnets.
Neodymium Sesquioxide is used to make Neodymium Iron Boron (Nd-Fe-B) permanent magnets, thus which are widely active in motors, generators, sensors, and other fields.
3. Aerospace Materials.
When adding Nd2O3 to magnesium alloys or aluminum alloys to improve the high-temperature performance, air tightness, and corrosion resistance of the alloy, and is widely active in aerospace materials.
4. Rubber Industry.
Besides, Neodymium oxide is active in rubber products and additives.
5. High-Temperature Materials.
What’s more, Neodymium Sesquioxide has a high melting point and thermochemical stability and serves as a preparation for refractory ceramics, high-hardness ceramics, and other materials.
In addition, Neodymium Oxide (Nd2O3) is also active in fluorescent materials, TV glass bulbs, scientific research reagents, biological research, and other fields.
