Description
Anhydrous Sodium Metasilicate is a colorless, tasteless, odorless powdery substance with a chemical formula of Na2Si03. The substance has excellent solubility and can dissolve rapidly in water to form an alkaline solution.
The role of Anhydrous Sodium Metasilicate in ceramic refining production is mainly:
– Anhydrous Sodium Metasilicate can disperse clay. It can maintain the state of slurry fluidity. Reduce the moisture of slurry as much as possible, save drying energy and increase productivity.
– Anhydrous Sodium Metasilicate can help with grinding, shorten the refining time, save energy, and increase production capacity.
– Na2Si03 can also improve the strength of the green body and reduce the damage rate of the green body. Sodium metasilicate’s excellent dispersion performance, pH buffering ability, and water softening ability make the ceramic slurry show good fluidity under the stable state of PH=10.5. However, adding too much sodium metasilicate will have a negative effect. The ceramic slurry is caused to solidify rapidly until it completely loses its fluidity. On the contrary, if the amount of sodium metasilicate is not enough, the effect of water reduction on ceramic refining is negligible. The content of sodium metasilicate, sodium oxide, and silicon dioxide has a great influence on the water-reducing effect of ceramic refining, even not proportionally. Therefore, the application of sodium metasilicate in ceramic production is highly technical. Enterprises without professional and technical capabilities cannot directly provide products and services for ceramic enterprises.
